Notes:
The original digitized video clip file sizes are very large (in the hundreds of MB's, @720x480 resolution, 30fps, typically about 26 times the size of the Windows Media files). In order to make them suitable for online viewing or downloading, they have been encoded or compressed to smaller files. As such the video qualities are not anywhere close to the originals.
Each clip has been encoded into various different formats. For online viewing (streaming videos), please select Real Media Video formats. These files were encoded at 3 different speeds to suit different Internet connection speeds. For better viewing quality, please download the video clips either in Real Media format or Windows Media format.
The different formats are tabulized as follow:
- Real Video low speed (encoded at 45kbps @180x120 resolution, 15fps) --
suitable for Internet connection 56k or slower
- Real Video medium speed (encoded at 150kbps @240x160 resolution, 20fps) --
suitable for single ISDN or corporate LAN connections
- Real Video high speed (encoded at 350kbps @360x240 resolution, 20fps) --
suitable for Cable, DSL or T1 LAN connections
- Real Media download -- same format as Real Video high speed, but for
downloading
- Windows Media download -- best quality @360x240 resolution, 30fps
